Highlighting Progress
The University of Memphis and the City of Millington hosted a joint celebration on Thursday, September 16, 2004 to officially open Phase I of the University's Millington Center. Since acquiring the 38-acre property in December 2002, the University has renovated Willis Hall, which has two floors with approximately 6,000 sq. ft. per floor. There are ten classrooms and two computer labs that are able to accommodate 200+ students and instructors at any one time. Phase II, which includes renovation of the 40,000 sq. ft. main floor of the old Navy hospital building, began in February 2006 and will open in fall 2006.
