James Hellums
Assistant Vice President, Physical Plant
Jim Hellums is a 1976 graduate of the University (then Memphis State University) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and he also holds two Master of Science degrees (1978, Mechanical Engineering and 1994, Business Administration (Executive)). He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Tennessee and Alabama. Jim began working for the University in 1978 as the Manager for HVAC/Energy. Over the years he has served as Associate Director, Physical Plant and Planning; Acting Director, Physical Plant and Planning; and Director, Physical Plant and Planning. He became the Assistant Vice President for Physical Plant in 1995.
