The Carpentry/General Maintenance Shop performs a wide variety of services for The University of Memphis. The services make up a large portion of the general upkeep a campus facility demands, both inside and out.

The Carpentry/General Maintenance Shop repairs and maintains all floors, walls, windows, doors, ceilings, and roofs of University buildings. Personnel from the shop install classroom accessories (whiteboards, bookcases, etc.), bathroom fixtures (soap dispensers, mirrors, etc.), and office accessories (pictures, cabinetry, shelves, etc.)

Outdoor responsibilities for the shop include the maintenance of sidewalks, handrails, fences, gates, bollards, and signposts. Carpentry/General Maintenance also performs painting tasks - inside and out.
