Before a fire occurs, follow these simple steps that will aid your survival. Find the nearest exit, and also an alternate, should the primary exit be blocked. Ensure the path to the exits is kept clear and all doors can be opened. 

When the fire alarm sounds, exit the building using the nearest exit. If you discover the fire, sound the fire alarm; pull stations are located on each floor by the exits. Call the fire department using 911, never assume that someone else has called. Know where the nearest fire extinguisher is located. Have one in your home, and know how to use it.
